Virtual Notre-Dame de Paris

Jean-Michel Jarre ushered in the new year 2021 by taking his fans on a journey with a concert spectacle set in the virtual environment of the iconic global symbol, Notre-Dame de Paris. The live show seamlessly blended VR concert footage with a real-time studio performance.

A New Year in VR

In a time of health emergencies and lockdowns, even New Year's Eve is being reimagined as a virtual experience. Jean-Michel Jarre presented "Welcome to the Other Side," a New Year's Eve concert in the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris.

Live

Jean-Michel Jarre performed live in a studio near Notre-Dame, while his avatar played in the entirely 3D-rendered French cathedral.

A world record

The concert was viewed by 75 million worldwide spectators, gathered on various platforms, including in VR on VRChat, on television, and on national and international radio stations, as well as on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Weibo, Bilibili, and Douyin.
